The next HSNA public meeting will be on Tuesday, August 5, 6:30 p.m., at the Highland Square Library. Representatives from the Cleveland Restoration Society (CRS) will teach us about the Heritage Home Program and how Highland Square residents may be eligible to use this wonderful resource for home rehab and historic preservation!

The land for the DM billboard (pictured here) is leased to J&B Outdoor by Pappas Realty for $500.00/ month.

Including the new 300 SF billboard, there are at least 9 signs on this property. (The DM sign on Merriman is out of view) How much is enough already? Only signage guidelines can prevent this sort of thing from occurring. When residents pleaded for signage control in the Highland Square Special improvement district, Steve Albrecht lobbied against them, saying that "the market should control signage in Highland Square". Apparently, Mayor Plusquellic agreed.

(1) 300 SQ FT (10 FT H x 30 FT W) Billboard at the DM Convenience store at Rhodes and Merriman. The billboard will top out at a whopping 50 FT above grade.

ELEVEN MORE J&B Outdoor billboards have been permitted by the City of Akron. According to Akron Zoning, they are all legal. The DM billboard was approved by zoning on December 11, 2007.
